Small info on Annisa:
Annisa Indonesia was founded by a small group of Indonesian women living worldwide with a single vision to improve the quality of life for Indonesian people and providing a brighter future for Indonesian children. Their missions are: To provide an ongoing programme that improves the standard of living, through education, to children who would normally miss out in the poorer rural, areas of Indonesia. To provide humanitarian aid to victims of natural disasters (i.e. the devastating effect of the Tsunami in Aceh and Earthquake in Yogyakarta). Annisa Indonesia was established as a non-profit NGO in 2004, but their charity activities have started since December 2002. All donations are used for humanitarian purposes and the organisation are run by unpaid volunteers residing in England, France, Germany & US, working together across the globe sharing a vision of Aid through Education. 2006 activities consist of: Donation of classroom accessories to schools in Yogyakarta, Central Java, that were destroyed by the Earthquake. Visited the Tsunami victims in West Java and delivered food parcels to refuge camps in the districts of Cikalong and Cipatujah, Tasikmalaya. Assisted a Library project that raised money to purchase books for children, which were personally presented by the organisation at a newly established library in Lhoknga, Aceh. Purchased and set up a computer suite at the Annisa Children Activity Centre in rural area of Tasikmalaya, for the children to use. |
